English Department:    

“The Shakespearean Council”

The Shakespearean Council refers to the Department of English. This Council works chiefly for the knowledge upgradation and personality development of the English students. The purpose of this council is to give the students exposure and confidence to communicate in English and develop a literary and artistic taste. Therefore, with the association of student executives and representatives, it carries forward the effort to eliminate the language barriers. It also endeavours to familiarise the students with the classic works of literature by screening the movies and plays based on them. The council organises debates, quizzes, calligraphy, poster, and essay competitions. The Council also provides students opportunities to enhance their oratory and communication skills by organising speaking and writing activities. The name ‘The Shakespearean Council’ is given to our council to commemorate the eminence of the “Bard of Avon”.

Political science Department:

Council for the ‘Art of Possible’

This is the council for the department of Political Science. It comprises of all the students who have political science as their subject. The office bearers of the council comprise of a President, a Vice-President, a General Secretary, and a Treasurer. The aim of this council is to create awareness over the contemporary political events and relate them to the existing political concepts and theories. Debates, essay writing, poster making are some of the most popular forms of competition organised by this council. We call this as the council for the ‘Art of Possible’ because we believe that politics is all about making things happen in the world full of conflicts and integration and as a student of political science, we need to identify these trends.

Music Department:

Sur Sangat

Music has been a part of education since Vedic period. It has been a medium of worship and expressions of feelings.

Music is in roots of Indian culture. Literature is interwoven in music. It spreads happiness and joy in a person’s life. Music is the soul of life and gives immense peace to us. Music is a great medium of moral education. Students learn saint’s great poetry through rhythm and melody.

Music has a great effect on children. Music helps us in connecting with our souls or real self. Indian music has a great piece in it and carries a person into meditation.

Home Science Department:

“Science at Home for better living”

Home science is the science of a home and it includes all the things that concern the person, home, family members and resources. It is the education for “better living” and the core of this education is the family ecosystem. It also deals with reciprocal relations between the family and its natural and man-made environments. It aims at getting maximum satisfaction for the person and their family members through the efficient and scientific use of your resources. It gives the person all the knowledge of the scientific procedures involved in making a home beautiful. Home science integrates the application of various sciences and humanities to improve human environment, family nutrition, management of resources and child development.

The departmental council of Home Science named as” Science at Home for better living” have been organized various competition such as poster making, Essay writing, rangoli making, quiz, mehandi competition, card making, pots decorations and artificial flower making and arrangements.These Competitions are organise for developing and increasing the creativity, technical knowledge and  nutritional knowledge of the students. All the students of department participate with great enthusiasm in competitions.

In addition,” Nutrition Week” is organized every year by the departmental council on the theme provided by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, in which student is organise various nutrition awareness activities through PPT, drama and food stalls of low-cost high nutrition dishes.

Along with this, a two day workshop was organized by the department in collaboration with Northern India Textile Research Association,Ghaziabad for the student to know the career and nuances in textile.

History Department:

Council for study of past with present

History is the study of life in society in the past, in all its aspect, in relation to present developments and future hopes. It is the story of man in time, an inquiry into the past based on evidence.

Studying history is important because it allows us to understand our past, which in turn allows us to understand our present.

Political and cultural history of India is mainly part of our curriculum. So that students can get more information about the glorious past and culture of our country. Students can also know how the position we are in today was laid in the past and how we achieved the present state of civilization.

A departmental council has been formed under the department. We call this as a Council for “study of past with present”

Through this council, active participation of students in the subject is ensured. The main objective of the formation of the history departmental council is to generate interest and curiosity among the students, to make the subject interesting, to develop reasoning and analysis ability among the students, to promote the use of technology in the subject.

Many competitions are organized under the departmental council in which subject based poster competition, essay competition, elocution competition, presentation by PPT, mapping competition etc.

So that all the students are motivated and encouraged to participate in the competitions. Also organised an educational tour, in which students visited India gate, National museum and Humayun tomb.

Along with this, World Heritage Week is organized every year from November 19 to 25 under the departmental council. Various educational activities and competitions are organized in this week so that the students can know about their civilization, culture and the precious heritage of their past and can play a role in preserving them.

Commerce Department:

Council for the Trade of Values

This is the kindred for the students of Department of Commerce. It organise of all the students Who have adopted Commerce as their stream. This council has A president, A Vice president, A General Secretary and A treasurer. The aim of this council is to create awareness about the events which has financial aspect to our society. Debates, Essay writings, poster making some are the most popular forms of competition organised by the council. we can call this council by the name of Trade of Values also because by increasing our values we can earn more wealth.

Zoology Department:

Council of Aristotelian

Zoology department constituted departmental Council naming Council of Aristotelian which is the advisory body on academic activities for the students. The president, secretary, treasurer and members are students that are elected among them. Different types of competitions are suggested and organized on consent of council in a meeting. Chart/ model/poster making competition and student seminar like competitions are conducted by department. The winners of competitions are awarded on annual day function of college. All activities are conducted under the guidance of head of department and under the supervision of patron principal. The purpose of constitution of council is to develop interest among student towards subject. Department organize field visit for students to understand animal behaviour, and how they interact with other species and environment. Guest lecture of zoologists are also organized to acquaint students about recent trends in zoology. A visit to animal culture site opens up a wide range of exciting career opportunities for students.

Botany Department:

Kalpviriksha: The Departmental Society of Botany

The Department of Botany pursues a mantra of holistic development of students. Conventional classroom is supplemented with modern pedagogy that includes field visits, students’ seminars, guest lectures, slide shows, screening of documentary films, quiz competitions and brain storming etc. These activities help the students to metamorphose their personality and inculcate the scientific temper. The departmental society of Botany, “Kalpvriksha” gives opportunities to students to develop and display their talents. The society is fully governed by students themselves hence it provides sense of leadership and responsibility among them. Botany being an important component of life Sciences, offers immense opportunities for further studies in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Plants Molecular Biology, Genomics, Agroforestry, Environmental Science and other related fields. The department has a small library that has a collection of books and previous year question papers to help in preparation of final exams.

Mathematics Department:

 Council for the ‘Ramanujan’

This is the council for the department of Mathematics. It comprises of all the students who have Mathematics as their subject. The aim of this council is to solve the application of applied mathematics & pure mathematics use in real life, prove the mathematical theorems. puzzles, verbal reasoning, non- verbal reasoning, problems, Quiz, module, seminar, poster making are some of the most popular forms of competition organised by this council. We call this as the council for the ‘Ramanujan’ because we believe that mathematics is use in real life.

Chemistry Department

In various branches of science, the subject of chemistry is itself a specialized subject. All the time we use chemicals in our daily life. The demand of drug and pharma industry is increasing continuously in the market. In the current world situation and newly evolving diseases the demand of time is to develop more and more diverse medicines using natural as well as synthetic chemicals. This broad objective can be achieved by clear and better understanding of chemistry.

Thorough knowledge of different branches of chemistry like Industrial Research Scientist, Research and Development Manager, Production Chemist, Lab Chemist, Analytical Chemist, Teachers, Chemical Engineer Associate, Material Technology Production Officer, Safety Health and Environment Specialist etc. can develop talented professionals. All these professionals can serve society by fulfilling demand of chemical in various fields.

Council for the philosophical investigation

यह काउन्सिल दर्शनशास्त्र विभाग की ओर से गठित की गई है।इस काउन्सिल मे दर्शनशास्त्र के सभी छात्र शामिल होंगे।इस काउन्सिल में एक अध्यक्ष,एक उपाध्यक्ष,एक महासचिव,और एक कोषाध्यक्ष होगा।इस काउन्सिल का उद्देश्य छात्रों में दार्शनिक दृष्टिकोण को विकसित करना है जिससे छात्र किसी भी तथ्य को तर्किक आधार पर विश्लेषित कर उसके वास्तविक स्वरूप को जान सके।
